Your Personalized Pension Statement FAQ
The name of my spouse or common-law partner shown on my pension statement is incorrect or missing. How do I update it?
The name shown on your statement is the name recorded in SAP that you provided as being your spouse or common-law partner.
You can change the name of your spouse or common-law partner by logging on to the Employee Self Service (ESS) module of SAP through canadapost.ca and selecting "I'm an employee" or through My SAP on Intrapost.
Then,
- select the "Personal Information" icon;
- choose "Marital Status and Spousal Information" from the left-hand menu; and
- enter the information about your spouse.
Instructions for updating your personal data are available on the ESS Overview page. Select the "Job aids" icon, then "Your Marital Status and Spousal Information".

I am recently divorced and my ex-spouse's name is on my pension statement. How do I change my marital status?
To update your marital status, follow the steps under Question #1.

I have pensionable service before my Plan enrolment date. Is my Plan enrolment date wrong?
No. Your Plan enrolment date represents the most recent date on which you became an active contributor to the Plan. Any service prior to your Plan enrolment date that you have purchased is still included in your eligibility and pensionable service. Service that you have purchased does not affect your Plan enrolment date.
Why is my elective service not included in my statement?
Only elective service that has been approved and paid or in the process of being paid will be included in your statement. To obtain a pension estimate with additional elective service, use the Pension Plan calculator.
What types of earnings are considered pensionable?
Your basic pay and other allowances paid for the performance of your regular duties,

For postmasters in a privately owned or leased group office, the pensionable earnings calculation is based on regular pay for survey hours and one-third of available hours; for postmasters in a corporate-owned or leased group office (level 2-6), based on regular pay for survey hours.
My situation has changed since December 31, 2023. Can I request a new personalized pension statement?
Personalized pension statements are only issued once a year. You can use the Pension Plan calculator to obtain up-to-date information about your accrued pension, and to estimate your projected pension benefit at any age using your own assumptions. Other pension estimate results may differ from this statement as you may select different assumptions and your personal data may have changed since December 31, 2023. Changes due to relationship breakdown will not be reflected using the Pension Plan calculator.
How do I change my pension beneficiary?
You can change your pension beneficiary by completing a new Designation of Beneficiary(ies) form and submitting it to the Pension Centre.
Why do some Plan members receive their pension statements before others?
Approximately 95,000 personalized pension statements are mailed each year. To help ensure quality customer service, the mailing period is spread over a few weeks. If you have not received your personalized pension statement by May 25, 2024, contact the Pension Centre at 1-877-480-9220 (TTY 1-866-370-2725).
